10 New Year Resolutions from Everyday Moms

A new year, a new start, a new slate.

I asked a few moms to share what their resolutions are  for 2014 and included some of my own.  What are yours?  Add them to the list below….

1.  This year I am really going to take time for myself  and make sure every day I have some Me Time. – even if it is only 15 minutes.

2. Work will have an END time – so no laptops, quick emails or calls after 5:30pm.   I really don’t need to be working 24/7.

3.  I am resolving to do LESS for my children then I did last year.  I want to encourage some independence so they can experience the rewards that come from accomplishment… and many build some character and work ethic on the way.

4.  Simply – composting!!

5. Less time worrying about the state of my house and more time playing with my kids.

6.  Spending more time outdoors – an achievable goal I am setting for myself is a 30 minute walk outside 3 times a week.

7. Start saying no – at work or at home.  I need to stop taking on so much because I don’t want to let anyone down.  My resolution is to start saying no.

8. Not losing my cool with my kids.  My resolution is to realize that when I need to calm myself down before reacting to my kids or anyone else.

9. As a family get involved in helping out at our local food bank once a month.  I would like my kids at a young age to really understand what paying it forward means.

10.  Learn a new language.  I have always wanted to learn a new language – in 2014 my resolution is to learn how to speak French!
