For Moms

As a mom I am pulled in so many directions every day and earlier this year I found myself only focusing on what was on my to do list and getting through the day.   I needed to do something to limit the amount of chaos in a house with 2 kids, a working mom and a dad that was away for weeks at a time.  The solution was the easiest and best thing I could have done.  Instead of trying to rework my schedule so I could get more done, I chose to focus on me.  That was it, by taking time every day – even 10 minutes to just be with myself I felt so much better.    I chose self-care. dreamstime_xs_216144071.jpg

I started making time to go out with friends, go to a bookstore by myself or just sit on our deck and have a cup of tea.  The end result is the more relaxed I was, the more I was able to give my kids and those around me quality, stress free time.  I became a better mom, a better wife and a better friend.

Renee Trudeau has been a huge inspiration to me and that is why I facilitate Personal Renewal Groups based on her books. “The most precious gift you can give your child (ren) and partner is to love and nurture yourself first.  Self-care is not about self-indulgence, it is about self-preservation. It is not about pampering, it is about owning your personal power. It is about nurturing your potential and living the life you were meant to live.”  – The Mothers Guide to Self-Renewal, Renee Trudeau.
